Habitat:
This species of woody plant is native to Japan, Korea, China, eastern Mongolia, and southeast Russia. Many different cultivars of this plant are selected based on their attractive forms, leaf shapes, and spectacular colours; and Seiryu is no expectation. This is one of the most popular cultivars and it grown and propagates worldwide.
Origin, history, and uses:

Although natively found in Asia, the first variant of this tree arrived in Great Britain in 1820. Since then, the presence of cultivars of Acer palamatum have increased exponentially.Preparations from the branches and leaves of Acer palmatum have been used as a treatment in traditional Chinese medicine, but otherwise are characterised by their beauty and uniqueness.

Phenology:
The dissected leafed Japanese Maple tree’s foliage is a bright, lime green throughout the spring and mid green in the summer, sometimes with a red tinge, before turning gold and red in the autumn.
